Rólunk

"I was really intrigued because a lot of the tricks that were happening in front of me were brand new and innovated by people my age. It felt like this was a whole new sport where anything was possible and I wanted to be a part of it."

Juzzy...Is it even necessary to explain who he is? Anyway - let's try. Juzzy is one of the most gifted riders on earth, and he is also a gifted human. An awesome person to be around, and he even functions as a model from time to time. Is there anything this guy can't do? We don't think so. Originally a park rider, but transitioned into riding street and basically killing every obstacle in front of him. We can not wait to see what the future holds with welcoming one of the best street riders of all time to our family!

Team SkatePro Q&A

Q: When last June you joined our team of pro riders, changing sponsor after 10 years, we got so hyped! And this has not been the only big change in your life: recently you moved from Australia to Los Angeles. What led you to change continent, and become a SkatePro Team Rider?
A: I recently turned 25 and wanted to try living overseas where I could be more productive and interact with more like-minded people that want to film edits and be productive. I want to try and film the best stuff I can while my body still allows me to, and Los Angeles is a place where you're surrounded by more opportunities, plus the weather is more consistent. I wanted to be a part of SkatePro because I love how you support all sports equally, gradually destroying the stigma and hatred that has divided the various action sports for decades. I can't wait to do more trips with the SkatePro team!!

Q: Is the Australian scootering scene different from the American one?
A: I find that no matter where you are in the world, the scootering community is generally the same. Everyone is always supportive, down to ride whatever, and focused on having fun. I love the Australian scene, but I thought it might be time to see what it's like living on the other side of the world.

Q: Is there anything you miss from Australia that you cannot get in the US?
A: Chicken Parmigiana's at the pub, Australian Healthcare, clean ocean water, and my family!

Q: Your approach to scootering is pretty unique (and you love them kinked rails): what inspires your style?
A: I do take a lot of inspiration from skateboarding, however the skaters I derive influence from change every few months. Right now I'm really into watching old Ritchie Jackson videos, Matt Tomasello, Michael Pullizzi, and Coke Wilson. People who skate spots differently open my eyes to the potential that every spot has to offer.

Q: What is the edit you’re most proud of?
A: I would say it's "All the way", mainly because there were lots of dream tricks and dream rails I've always wanted. However, the video I'm working on right now is what I'm most excited about. Having complete creative control with this has been a dream. I can't wait to share it with everyone when I release it.

Q: What does this sport mean to you, and why can’t you live without it?
A: It’s what I do best, it's what I think about as I'm falling asleep and it's where I feel accepted. Scootering has changed my life and I can't imagine my life without it.

Q: Why should everyone give it a try?
A: I think people should give it a go and see if they like it! I chose scootering because it felt right, but maybe another sport feels right for someone else. Either way, never try to force anything, always do it for fun and never forget why you started!

Q: What would you recommend to someone just getting started with scootering?
A: I would say that like anything in life, you have to work for the things you want. If you have a dream trick, it may take a while, but persistence and resilience will unlock that trick for you and you'll never regret putting in the work. But also, scootering is fun!! Always make time to play SCOOT, bomb a hill or go for a cruise with your friends. These are memories that will last forever!

Q: Any trick or kind of product you would recommend to someone who is getting acquainted with the sport?
A: Put in the time to learn every basic trick! Don't skip any, because you'll regret it later on. I still can't backflip or tuck no hander and I wish I didn't skip them in the early days…
